Snailsy is where people show off what they built with AI - apps, games, art, agents, prompts, templates - and where the community decides what rises. Members upvote and downvote, comment, follow makers, and buy creations right on the page. Makers earn a following, a level, and money.

🖼️ Posting a creation

Media

Up to 12 items per creation: images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF) and clips (MP4, WebM, MOV) up to 60 MB and three minutes each. Screenshots are optimized in your browser before upload, so even big captures upload fast. The first item is the cover - put your best shot there. You can paste a screenshot straight from your clipboard onto the composer.

Title, one-liner, story

Title up to 80 characters, one-liner up to 140, story up to 6,000. The story supports markdown-lite: **bold**, *italic*, `code`, ## headings, - lists, fenced code blocks, and links auto-link. Tell people how you built it and what surprised you - the story is what earns the follow.

Built with, tags, links

Tag up to 8 AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Midjourney…) - people browse by them on Explore. Add up to 8 free-form tags. A live demo link and a code link are optional but creations with a demo get far more upvotes.

Drafts

Drafts autosave and are visible only to you (they show with a dashed border on your showcase). Publishing needs a title and at least one image or clip.

🏛️ Votes, ranking & levels

Hot ranks by net votes decayed by age, with a small boost for comments and sales - so a fresh creation with a few upvotes can outrank an old one with many. New is chronological. Top is net votes in a window (today, this week, this month, all time). Following shows only makers you follow.

Builder points measure authority: +1 per upvote received (downvotes subtract), +2 per comment someone leaves on your work, +3 per follower, +2 per free get, +10 per sale. Points unlock levels:

You can't vote on your own creations, love your own comments, or buy points. The Top makers board ranks points earned this week, this month, or ever.

💸 Selling & payouts

What people get

Every creation is either a showcase (nothing to get) or comes with a deliverable: a file (up to 200 MB, stored privately), a private link, or text (a prompt, a license key, instructions). Deliverables are revealed only to you and to members who got or bought the creation. Free deliverables unlock with one tap and count as a "get".

Pricing and the fee

Paid creations cost between $1 and $1,000. Snailsy currently keeps a 10% platform fee on each sale (the fee in effect when a sale happens applies); you keep 90%, before Stripe's standard card-processing fee. Free creations cost nothing to anyone. There are no listing fees or subscriptions.

Payouts

To charge for anything you connect a Stripe account from Your showcase → Earnings & payouts. Stripe collects your identity and bank details (Snailsy never sees them) and pays your share out on its normal schedule. Until Stripe confirms your account, your creations can be published as free.

Why buy instead of build?

AI made building fast; it didn't make finished things free. Getting from a prototype that runs to a product that holds up still takes a person's hours - iterating, fixing edge cases, making it feel right. When you buy on Snailsy you're paying for those hours once, at a fraction of what repeating them would cost you. Every creation shows how it was built and which tools were involved, so you know what you're getting before you pay.

Buying

Tap Buy, pay with a card in Stripe Checkout, and you're back on the page with the deliverable unlocked. Everything you bought or got lives in Your showcase → Library. Refunds are handled by the maker through Stripe; access is revoked when a refund lands. Sales are between you and the maker under the Buyer Terms.

⚑ Moderation

Any member can report a creation or a comment. Five distinct reports hide a creation; three hide a comment. Reports are anonymous and rate-limited. Makers can delete comments on their own creations. Everything is enforced by the database - there's no queue to wait on.

👤 Your account

Your username is your public identity; your email is only for signing in. You can pick an emoji avatar, a headline, a bio, and social links on your showcase. The Trail is an optional weekly digest — off by default. Turn it on or unsubscribe in Settings. Deleting your account removes your creations, media, votes, comments, and follows; buyers keep what they already downloaded.

📜 The rules

Everything on Snailsy is governed by the Terms of Service (which include the Content Rules, Maker Terms, Buyer Terms, and Copyright Policy) and the Privacy Policy. The short of it: only post what you have the rights to, say honestly which AI tools you used, sales are between makers and buyers, and Snailsy is the platform, not the seller. To report copyright infringement, appeal a moderation action, or delete your account, email hello@snailsy.com with the subject line the Terms describe.
